Throughout the year we perform lots of small shows and take part in other events that we are invited along to, which helps us to teach our members to give back to the community. We aim to try and put on at least one large show a year, some groups do these at our own mini theatre while the advance class puts a show on at the Hazlitt theatre in Maidstone.

After a long year for all involved with Harmony, Harmony Community Arts Centre saw its second Christmas show.

'Show Time Express' Get on board as we travel from London to Kansas and into the world of the story book. Mary Poppins, The Wizard Of Oz, The Wild West and the stories from Story Books.
We has six months to reherse, which may seem a long time but when broken down into hours and weeks it is only 104 hours or 3 whole working weeks.
We started work on 'My Fair Lady' as our opening scene from the 1900's and then we moved on to the 1920's through the 30's and 40's right up to modern times.
Suddenly June was around the corner and we had only a few rehearsals left to get everything right. We increased our rehersal meetings to 3 times a week, adding Sunday afternoon to our Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
Final costumes were made by our dressmakers early for this show as our committee had arranged for us to do some publicity photographs at a local restaurant called Frankie and Benny's in Maidstone, these were for our 1920's sketch.
The show ran very smoothly with quick fire changes to each performance given. The illusionist was great and put on a fantastic show, as did the amazing acrabatic dancing team called Acromax.
The sets and costumes were good and made us feel confident. The last night was very emotional. We had achieved a standing ovation every night and it was hard to believe that it was over again for another year.
The first major production for the group was in June 2000. This was a variety show called Summertime Special and ran for 5 nights at the Hazlitt Theatre in Maidstone, Kent.
