Summer Workshop Show The summer workshop group performed a fantastic show on Friday evening which they had put together themselves. They invited our Tuesday evening circus skills group along to perform in the first half. The show lasted about 1 and a half hours, the first half was made up of singing, dancing and circus skills while the second half had a play which had produced during the 4 weeks of the workshop. The play named Harmony Bay was written and produced with very little help from the supervising adults. The script was written by Reece and Ricky with help from Liz. The dances were choreographed by Sam and Hannah. All the props were designed by the young people and constructed mainly by Paige, Sara, Fran with help from Carole, the backdrop was designed and painted by Paige. Reece and Rachel directed the young people to create the wonderful play. The show was a great success and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the whole workshop.

Change in Class Times

Due to the growing popularity of Harmony and choreographer changes the times of classes have changed.

* Monday 7:30-9:30PM is our advanced class, this class is by invite only.

* Tuesday 7:00-9:30PM is a circus skills class where you can learn many types of circus skills.

* Wednesday 7:00-9:00PM is our over 11s class

* Wednesday 9:00-10:00PM is singing practice by invite only.

* Thursday 6:30-8:30PM is our under 11s class.

The summer workshop puts on a show for Maidstone mencap

The summer workshop puts on a show for Maidstone mencap On Tuesday the participants of the summer workshop put on a small show for the Maidstone mencap group. Some of the teenage and young adults from Harmony which are helping to run the summer workshop put together a performance which contained singing and dancing, most of which had been taught in the first week of the workshop. The show lasted about 45 minutes and the Maidstone mencap group were thrilled to have a morning out to see a show and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Summer Workshop started

The summer workshop has run successfully during its first week. Getting a number of young people off the streets working towards a show due to be performed Friday 27th August with some work going towards our show in the Hazlitt theatre in October. The workshop runs 3 days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10am-4pm.

River Festival

River Festival Despite poor weather in the morning the sunshine came out and the river festival went well. With just a weeks notice that the river festival was unable to fund a stage in Whatman Park Harmony managed to supply and transport a stage in for the day. This proved to be a very long day for those volunteers that helped with the setting up and packing up of the stage and equipment but all the volunteers and performers alike enjoyed the day and are glad they took part.

Kitchen has a make over

After receiving the funding earlier this year that allowed us to improve the kitchen the work is almost complete. John has been hard at work putting up new cupboards, tiling the walls and putting in a new window. Despite having more cupboards installed everyone says the kitchen now feels a lot bigger and looks much better.

Harmony Fun Day

Harmony Fun Day Harmony holds a very successful Fun Day to raise funds to make costumes and improve awareness of our fully equipped mini theatre. This was a fun packed afternoon with singing, dancing, tombola, refreshments, side stalls and other entertainment. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Gents Toilets get a make over

Gents Toilets get a make over After non-stop working getting the ladies toilets tiled and building a pagoda out the back the gents toilets have now been tiled to match the ladies toilets, this has freshened up the gents toilets.

Pagoda constructed to provide cover outside

To provide shelter from the rain John has constructed a pagoda out the back between the temporary changing rooms and kitchen. This is an ideal area to relax outside during events and provided us with an ideal place to build and paint sets and props sheltered from the weather.

Ladies Toilets get a make over

Ladies Toilets get a make over To help improve the look and cleanliness the Ladies toilets have been tiled. This has helped finished off the toilets and made them more hygienic. Tiles have also been laid in the lobby which has improved the entrance to the hall.
